PDFs are great. They allow us to access and share large amounts of information in a clear, uniform manner. The only trouble is, they're a real pain to edit once created. The editing process is one which can often require a lot of extra software, most of which you need to buy separately. Not surprisingly, such software is usually rather expensive. Happily, a new utility called PDFill has arrived on the scene, mitigating the need for costly traditional methods like Adobe Acrobat.
PDFill has a host of features, the majority of which seem to focus on collaborative applications. In addition to total editing capability, you have the option to add annotations, to add highlights/emphasis markings, to change the order of your PDF's pages, to add hypertext, and so on. You can even make a PDF from scratch if you want.
PDFill is great, but as with all technology, it still falls prey to negative features. Read on for a brief pro/con summary.
Pros
This utility is very easy to learn and use. It allows the end user broad control over their PDFs, both old and new, yet also allows for precision edits. There are plenty of features, and you can even use it as a one-stop PDF creator / editor combination, potentially saving you cash, hassle and disk space in one fell swoop.
Cons
This utility is Windows-only, which means Mac users and others will need to source their own equivalents. The download is only a trial version, and installing the program will mean installing lots of extra software and tools, without which the application won't work properly.
Whether or not PDFill is right for you as a consumer is a personal decision. However, the preceding review should make that decision both informed and simple.
